I’m a newbe on the block that got my Open Water and NITROX 12/2016. Currently I’m scheduled to complete Advanced Open Water in Febuary. I’m planning a road trip to California and want to scuba a few spots. St Andrews State Park looks my style budget wise. A $90 ride to a wreck at Destin didn’t seem to appealing. My California dive will probably be Catalina Island. Are there any other suggestions for the budget conscious?

Also, I’ve been working with my brother, an avid diver for several years on air consumption, i.e. breathing normally. Both my last dives were less than .5cuft/min surface air consumption. I mention this because I am not looking for deep dives for the sake of going deep. A good long drift in shallow to moderate depths 30ft-60ft with lots to see would probably be my paradise. Suggestions are welcome.
