Been diving since 2007 and now a freelance PADI Open Water Instructor. I absolutely love it!!! Seeing the faces of dive students change from being worried and skeptical to ecstatic and full of wonder, is just priceless. I am also interested in marine Biology and thinking about pursuing higher education to qualify as a research diver. So if you know of any good courses please drop me a line ;) . I also teach Design and Animation at Virginia Commonwealth University and Northwestern University in Qatar.
Currently developing a course that merges design and environment.

Welcome to DB.
I looked into taking a Marine Biology course so I would have a better idea at what I was looking at and found it was a lot easier to just read the course books but you’re young and a degree might help.
There was a biologist in Florida that would give a short course to tourist and then take them on a reef field trip, she found it paid better than being a DM

Thank you for your comment :) independent learning as you suggested is the best actually. Reading as much as I can and volunteering on various research projects both in and outside the water. One day, it’ll happen.
