Curtis from Monterey CA | Instructor

I live by the beautiful Monterey Bay, I love to dive every chance I get, and I’m always down to explore some local diving with the occasional trip to places warm and sunny, or at least different to what I have here. I became an instructor to teach independently and share my love of diving, as well as support my diving addiction. I also lead tours of Monterey Bay and Carmel dive sites. :)

My favorite freshwater dives have been in the Great Lakes, the Bonne Terre Mine, and I’ve completed the Florida Keys Wreck Trek. Enough small talk - Let’s go diving!

Nice photo of hydrocoral. Made me look at your profile and I read you completed the keys wreck trek. Congrats on that, it’s a great challenge unlike no other in diving. I have completed it 2x but I cheated, I live in SW Florida ;-)

I have dove the Spiegel Grove 10x and the Vandenberg 9X. On my last Vandenberg dive I had the pleasure of catching great conditions on a charter with 3 divers. We did a hot drop and did a slow drift dive from bow to stern. The only time I had ever gone past the dishes towards the stern.

If you ever plan on going back to the keys and need a dive buddy let me know. I’m retired and always ready for a trip to the keys. BTW my favorite wreck is the Duane. Happy diving!

Hey, Curtis, did you get to take a trip in November? If so, where?

I did! I went aboard the Caribbean Explorer II between St. Kitts and St. Maarten, visiting Saba on the way. It was good diving! :)
