I was cerified when I was 11 by an SSI instructor who had a son the same age. My dad needed a partner and she wanted her son to be certified so she let us go early (for back in the day). It was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I truly love diving and have gotten my new husband and his daughter certified. Her husband and my oldest daughter will be divers this year. Old dogs like me can do new things-for the first time, I went diving in fresh water last year (2008). I still prefer salt (LOL) but it was different.

I worked at a dive shop in my late teens/early twenties and learned a lot about the equipment. I got to go to the DEMA dive show and had my pic taken with Jean-Michael Cousteau. I am raising a family of divers and we are always looking for new dive friends.

I have a Searay 390 express cruiser. It’s 39 feet, I bought it as a project boat and it is still a project. Was delayed a little when I had to replace one of the motors. My mother has a house at Dauphin Island, thats where I keep the boat. I guess you guys leave from Orange Beach for your dive trips. Better diving closer to shore from there. Is there any place that you know of to do a beach dive that has anything to see. I think the only beach dive that I have done was right after I got certified and that was in Pensacola and a night dive at that. My instructor called me and said I should go. Wasn’t one of my better experiences.

Hey Felicia,
I appreciate the offer of the use of equipment, mine is in the dive shop as we speak. I’m sure it is ready just haven’t had the time to pick it up. I also have a boat but am doing some work on it at this time. Finding time for that is hard to come by also. Would you have any problem with me adding you as a buddy, would be easier for me to keep up with who is local and willing to help.
Happy Diving

Hey Felicia,
Thanks for the add. We just made a trip last weekend to Pelham diving the quarry. Fun times, but cold water. :)
Have a good one..
