New Survey section for members.

I just created a new survey section that allows members to create their own surveys.

Check it out: http://www.divebuddy.com/survey.aspx?SurveyID=64

I added links to the survey section on the member home page AND the quick links drop down in the top right.

Try to refrain from posting a forum to announce a new survey you’ve added. Just send an update to your buddies with the survey link if you want responses OR just give it some time and I’m sure people will check out your survey and answer you.

There can only be one answer on a survey...so if you want to allow multiple selections...do something like:

1 Blue
2 Black
3 Red
4 All the above
5 Other (specify in comment)

The comment field can be used for anything when someone is answering your survey.

You can send a message to everyone that answered your survey by clicking the envelope on your survey list page that lets you manage your surveys. OR you can set the survey to Active or Inactive. Active surveys are shown while Inactive surveys are not...you can only see them in your manage survey section.

You can NOT edit a survey after you add it. This prevents someone from changing the question and answers after responses are provided. You can only set it to Inactive or choose to delete it if you want.

Once the survey is expired and someone views the survey, it defaults to the Results page and you can’t provide anymore responses.

I hope you like this new section! Later, Greg

so if a survey expires after 3 months, but it was popular enough to reactivate, is that possible? and are there points to be rewarded for posting surveys (the most popular ones, or voted to be quality surveys)?

It’s IMO that surveys can serve as resourceful information.

On 7/21, I posted the comment, "Any chance for a survey feature to get input on dates and locations?" in the "DiveBuddy Happy Hour" topic, and only 3 days later Greg announces it!

Man, you’re fantastic!

From LVDiver: Man, you’re fantastic!

With enough coffee and the right music, you’ld be surprised just how fast my programmer fingers can type :) Like I’ve always said, if you want to see something on this site, send me your comments, if I like it (or enough other members like it), I’ll probablly do it pretty quickly.

Greg,

I really like these surveys.

In the "manage surveys" view, can we get a "date of last response" column?
