You can use the short, stubby, special for Lionfish, spears instead of a full blown pole spear. They are only about 3’ long, 3 prong, and cheap at dive shops along the coast. For a full blown pole spear, there are tons of options, depending on your preferences. I really like my Linghunt 3 pc.
