I never heard about this until now. Maybe they’re going to take over the scuba industry and start consolidating gear. When another business buys several other similar businesses, it usually means they want their products/ideas/patents, but will ultimately narrow the product line and attempt to reduce costs by eliminating all the duplicate people, marketing departments, manufacturers, etc. That may mean better prices for us in the future.

Huish Outdoors is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and has been in business since 2009. Their former name was Huish Scuba, LLC and they are currently doing business as Huish Divers, LLC.

"Dan Huish suggests that while you should certainly learn everything you can about the new industry, you don’t necessarily have to become an expert in it. Dan Huish, for example, doesn’t personally know how to make an oxygen tank for SCUBA standards – but he knows how to operate a business, and he knows people who do have those skills. Don’t be afraid to admit areas where your knowledge is slim, and find someone who can do that particular job better than you can."
