Hi,
I’m pretty new to diving and don’t really have anyone to go places nearby with. I plan to go up to Mermet Springs every once in a while, down to the Gulf Coast when I can and I’m open to other places close enough for me to drive to. I have been diving at Mermet, the GC and have had an awesome week of diving on St. Thomas. I’m "Nitrox", "Advanced OW" and "Boat" diving cert. I’m looking to get some experience with deep diving and then wrecks. That’s what is really interesting to me. In the next couple years I’m buying a trawler for getting into the Caribbean and plan to move on to the boat and head for St. John in July of 2022. Anyway........... let’s dive.

jjmdiver - 7/23/2017 3:14 PM Richard, Glad you could join us. The Dive Shop Memphis usually goes to Mermet every other weeken during the summer. You can call up there and find out what weekends they are going. They also have done a few other "local" trips. A couple weekends ago I think they went to some lake in Arkansas. My wife and I go to the GC quite a bit. We live in Collierville, so it’s a bit of a drive, but always worth it. A few of us are going down to the GC the first weekend in September. I think there is room on the boat for one of the days we will be diving. All of us going are either master diver or above, so you’ll be in good friendly company. DivingDave - 7/21/2017 11:06 PM Hey Richard. Your plans sound awesome. Looks like we have a lot in common. I’ve been caught up in other activities this summer and haven’t had the change to go diving. I haven’t yet been to Mermet Springs but I’ve heard it is fun - at least for lake diving. 2022 isn’t that far away. I will be 62 then as well. Perhaps our paths will cross one day. Do you use The Dive Shop in Memphis? TrawlerRich1 - 7/22/2017 7:19 AM They are actually working my regulators for me now (short story, oops) and seem like a great group. They are not PADI so I have trained elsewhere, but they are going up there that weekend too. Where are you located?
