Started scuba diving in 1966 went on to do some commercial diving in the late 70’s then got my PADI Instructors rating in 1993. Ran dive trips to the Bahamas and Grand Cayman and mated aboard a charter boat called the "Impatience" out of Point Pleasant, N.J. We chartered fishing and wreck diving for a number of years and I got my captains license in 1998. Retired my instructors rating in 2003 and now just look to enjoy diving and fishing.

CaptainRatseye - 9/20/2014 10:30 AM Dove around the old Barnegat Light house the past few days looking for fluke. The water was 69 degrees with very, very good vis but it was blowing hard Friday (20 to 25 knots from the NE) and it stirred things up. Small fluke to be seen along with snapper blues around the jetty’s. Did see a LOT of small blowfish so they must be making a comeback. Was looking to try a beach dive outside but there was some big surf running on the beach Friday and a wicked long shore current. Beach patrol had the yellow flags out. Haven’t dove this spot in a long time and it was nice to be back.
