What are your plans? I actually live on little torch. Though I am not real experienced yet. I have my own gear except tanks.

I wanted to catch or spear a couple fish and capture a few lobster. I prefer the lower keys. Exact location to be determined by the wind and visibility. I heard the visibility has been good and as long as the wind keeps a northerly component, it should be possible to find a protected area.

I have a lot of experience but live in Port St Lucie so it’s a long drive if the weather does not cooperate.

Yeah long drive. Accuweather is giving about a 50% chance of showers. So we moved here a little over a year ago. I had to retire early due to a disability, but I can dive with no problems; I am 52. I have only been certified for a few years an have about 22 dives. When I moved here I bought an old boat so I could go out and dive whenever I wanted without having to pay $100 every dive to a local operator. Unfortunately it has been very hard trying to find local dive buddy’s. I also do not have a fishing license and will not be able to get one until later this month. Honestly I have never done much fishing anyway. So as you can tell I am a newbie in pretty much all this stuff.
That being said if you need a buddy to come along I can observe and maybe learn something new. Not sure what else I can offer you.

I am 50, and have a boat but would prefer not to trailer if possible. If we can use your boat it would be great. We can split the costs. I have a lot of great GPS numbers throughout the area. If you want to try fishing you can buy and print one online. Want to give it a try?

I would like to. There are a few problems though. We just returned this week after being gone for two months. I have yet to check out the boat since getting home. It ran fine before i left but while preparing for our trip i wasnt able to get the boat ready for sitting here for two months. The batteries were new but I had to order a new battery charger and did not have the time to install it before we left. So i am sure she needs to be cleaned and started. I think i have plenty of gas in it. It is a 1998 Bayliner Ciera 2655.

My truck is also not running and I may not be able to get it taken care of for a couple weeks, it needs a battery which was going bad before we left. We are about a quarter of a mile on the county road from the nearest boat ramp so I dont have a way to get the boat to the water at the moment.

I realize this is a bunch of crap at the moment, its just a matter of timing. If you were just looking for a dive buddy this weekend i could probably swing it. I will need time to get the boat ready to make sure it is seaworthy and all though. If you were able to help with getting the boat in the water then i could do it next weekend. I was in submarines in the Navy and will be up in Georgia for the last weekend of the month for a reunion so I wont be here from the 23rd to the 28th.

I am absolutely willing to use my boat and do this any other time though. I was wanting to learn how to spearfish and what it takes to catch the bugs anyway.

I specified, installed and commissioned the propulsion controls on the blocking vessels in Georgia...small world.

I think it is better to try another weekend. Week days are also ok when I am in town. I travel frequently.

Let’s stay in touch.
