Is it safe there these days??

I have heard nothing differently at this time. A friend of mine was there diving with another couple last month and she said nothing has changed; she’s done a couple of dozen dive trips to Coz without incident.

I have been to Cozumel 3 times this year so far. I stay in town in small hotels in town. I think it is as safe as any place of the same size in the US. I walk around alone at night in the less touristy areas and feel safe.

I’ve only been there once so far, last October. But I loved it and would not be returning there or asking others to join us if I felt otherwise. We stayed at Scuba Club Cozumel and felt very safe, both there and in town.
