 Diving around Washington D.C. Area

Hi all. I am just looking to get started with diving. I am completing my confined water dives next weekend and then have to wait until May, 2018 when shops in this area offer the dives to finish my open water dives, unless I plan a trip south.

It seems as though there aren’t too many great dive sites in the area, but maybe I am just missing them. If anyone from this area dives, I would love to meet up or get any advice you might have. I’ll always take any general advice for newbies you might have as well!
