Looking for a buddy to do some shore diving in Maui. Bringing my own equipment. Will also try for 2 boat dives. South shore preferred (Kihei area) but open to other locations if I have some time to plan.

I checked out hot pink website. Give. E more details. What do you charge for shore dives. Would love to check out some wrecks and get advice on the best boat dives, etc. what classes do you teach? Might be interested in that as well. I have AOW and about 50 dives so still a newbie but adventurous. Most dive experience is in low viz conditions of the Northeast.

I don’t have set prices. I mostly dive with my club, and rely on gifts/tips. Tips are taxable; gifts are not.

Since you are already advanced open water, I have no further classes to offer you. That doesn’t mean I can’t help you improve.

There are two wrecks that I dive from shore. One is the St. Anthony, about 0.4 miles from shore and nearly 70’ deep. The other is the Carthaginian, about 0.6 miles from shore and nearly 100’ deep. I also have a few dives that involve a bit of a hike.

I have a lot of my own tanks, including DIN valves and a few nitrox. If you use my tanks, I expect you to reimburse me for the fills, $4 for air and $10 for nitrox.

Sounds good Lloyd. Let’s connect as we get closer. I’d love to hit those wrecks from shore. I’d also like to pick your brain on the best boat dives and operators. I did discover scuba with Maui Divers and had a pretty
good experience. Thanks.

I have never done a dive with Maui Dive, but I see their boat at one of my favorite beach dives. I like to dive with Ed Robinson and B&B.

Lloyd,

Any experience with Scuba Shack? There boat leaves right across from my condo. Thinking about convenience...

Appreciate your advice.

I once dove Molokini backwall with Scuba Shack. They were good dives.

You should note that several other operators also use Kihei boat ramp, including Ed Robinson, B&B Scuba, and Mike Severn. My dive club is likely do charter a boat for a backwall dive June 24, just before your arrival. We will be using Maui Diamond, which departs from Ma’alaea Harbor.

Thanks Lloyd,

Your knowledge is much appreciated. I hope we get the chance to do some dives while I’m in town.

I’m going to follow your advise and check out Ed Robinson’s easier dives first.
