I have heard you need A wheel barrel and plan to get really muddy as you climb through the swamp to try to get to the spring lol, i’ve never been there . swamps have snakes alligators Bears mosquitoes any truth to it? :-)

I use a handcart w 6"pneumatic tires others use a yard cart. Have seen snakes. Skeeters r HORRIBLE take deet 100. It is located in a wildlife mgmt area so u may see bears dear ect. Have been going there 8 years and have seen 1 snake......gators can b in any body of water in fl. Have dove w smaller ones. Pretty cool to see. The swamp is swampy fer sure. U need to be creative w the route at times but its well worth the trip especially if u time ur dive time from 10 - 2 . Check my pics. Have a few from buford posted. At 3$ plus an air/fuel its alot cheaper then payin to b hearded like cattle at DD or BG on a busy day. If ur diving bm doubles u will need a spotter to help get thru the swamp. SM is alot easier. Took mine last time ....also took a friend who can curl 285 to carry them thru the swamp. All in all well worth the trip if you get a cart to make it easy

I have a 4wd Diesel Ford excursion that could get us prob up to the swampy part LOL, I dive Hp100 steel with a 6cu zeagle pony so nothing big, How far is the walk from were the road ends?
Yep i gotta jeep so no prob here either. Unfortunately ur not allowed to drive back there. Its a fire road and its blocked/posted at the main road so walking ur gear back is the only option. The walk w my loaded handcart is only about 10 min. We usally take 3-4 tanks each and make a day out there. This is 160 deep so to get any real time to explore and cover deco i use hp120 x 2 and hp100 staged.

Does it have to be a deep dive? is there anything to see in a shallower depth? what mix do you use? forgive all the questions my dives have been ocean and im just not getting into the springs. Nothing deep or deco. I have been studying deco and mixed gas for a wile im sure at some point this will be my next progression so any info is very helpful.
U can pretty much see as far as ur lites will. Lots to see at shallower. Top of the mound is about 80 so u could swim the perimeter of the cavern and still c light. 21% /Air. Safe mix/mod for 160 isnt really worth paying for to save 12 min of deco IMHO. Mixed gas is cool but the only way to economicaly dive it anymore is on a rebreather. Helium is crazy expensive gotta have deep pockets for mixed gas
