I have a Zeagle Ranger BCD and need weights, and i want shot bags instead of the hard weights. I wanna make them, but not too sure where to buy the Shot Powder itself, any help will be wounderfull!

Lead shot is still found in some sporting goods stores - mostly for hunters who load their own shells or for muzzleloaders. A couple of shops in each state cater to black powder guys - from them, you can even buy lead musket balls. Many states prohibit the use of lead shot, and the only shot you can buy is made of antimony. Make sure you buy the largest shot you can find. It’s probably going to oxidize unless you treat the surface with rustoleum or varnish. If you use untreated bird shot in salt water, you’ll wind up with a bag of lead oxide ooze in a few weeks. I dive in a Mares Icon with integrated weights. I started with bags of tire balancing weights, tried birdshot and 60 cal. musket balls, moved on to steel 9" carriage bolts, and finally settled on plain old diving weights. - Dive Safe - Dive Often - Scout

I prefer reg. hard weights. The lead shots take forever to drain the now black water out all over the boat, car trunk and every where they go.

Go to your local shooting supply store and ask for #7 or #6 chilled shot. They typically come in 25 lb bags. It is for shot shell reloading. If you can’t find it locally, try midwayusa.com - it is a mail order reloading supply house. look for shotshell reloading components.

I used 7 shot for mine and made my bags out of window screen material. 10 years later and they are still in service with minor repairs. The screen material makes it easier to wash the mud off and drain easier than if you use noeprene or lycra.

to be honest with you I thought of this and it came up to not cost effective at all. It was cheaper that I rent the darn weights.

I have the same BCD and made my weights from #7 shot sewn into homemade nylon material pouches. The nylon came from an old equipment storage bag that was in the garage.
I figure at the time I paid about a dollar a pound when the retail prices were around four dollars a pound.
Lead shot has increased in price lately, too.
