I am camping and diving Ginnie Springs Fri 11/15 and Sat 11/16 any one like to dive Fri or Sat morning before the Dive Rally put on by Divers Supply? Attending the event Sat after lunch, Galaxy Dive in the Ball Room Sat night. Then going to Blue Grotto Sun morning 11/16 to finish up the Dive Rally with Divers Supply.

Is that a safe dive for a novice?

The main spring is safe for a novice. They do open water training there. A drift dive from devils ear to the main spring is easy allso, although the river part of the drift the viz can be low because of the tannins and tubity in the river but still ok for a beginner comfortable with that. The ball room below the main spring they allow OW but it is an overhead enviroment and should not be done by beginners and dive lights are needed. I would recomend AOW and or Cavern cert to go into the ball room since it is overhead. Devils Ear allows OW but no lights allowed to keep divers out of the cave sytem unless they are cave certified.

Signed up with Divers Supply for the dive Rally. Need to call Ginnie Springs and reserve my camping for Fri and Sat night. Looking forward to a fun weekend!

How much was the rally fee without the hotel? This sounds interesting, but I live in G’ville, so it is only ~30-40 minute drive for me, so no need for hotel. Up for a morning dive Saturday before the rally?

Diver Supply discounted the Rally to me $40.00 without the hotel room. I am getting up to Ginnie Springs Fri morning. If I have a buddy I can dive Fri and or Sat morning before the Rally. The Rally starts Sat after lunch.

So $130 for the rally fee? I’ll think about it, but I am saving for cavern certification really soon...

Haeding up early Fri hoping to get a good camp site right behind the main spring and the river right next to the Ball Room. My favorite spot feels like an island paradise!
