Ditto, when someone rates a dive site a 5 it would be nice to know how many dives they have and where they’ve been to put things in to context.
There was a diver on another site that shall remain nameless who was always handing out advice to newbies like you should wear doubles on beach dives, what! Turns out he only dove springs, "not that there is anything wrong with that"

Regarding #1: Can we just all agree that if Boat isn’t checked, then it must be a shore dive :) ? Also Shore Entry is a data element on the dive site already.

Ok, please test. You would not believe the complexities involved with doing this :)
Now when you visit a member’s profile that has logged dives on DiveBuddy you will see a "Total Dives" row under "Experience". If they have logged dives, it will be a hyperlink to their dive log (if they are on your buddy list OR if they are sharing with the public). If they don’t have logged dives, but have entered something in the "Dive Log Summary" starting dive/bottom time count, you will just see a label (no hyperlink to the dive log).
When viewing someone else’s dive log, you can see details, copy or print. If you choose to Copy, it will copy the details of their dive log to yours, immediately taking you to the "log a dive" page. You can then change the date, description, pick your dive buddies, etc. and quickly log the dive. This is great if you dove together and don’t feel like re-doing everything.

Very cool. Seems to work great. So it looks like the number of dives only shows up on profiles where a diver has used the dive log function? Does that sound right? I clicked on a few of my buddies and it did not show their number, and some it did. I wonder how many members are using the dive log function. I know most of my buddies still like to write in their little books, and probably don’t want to double up the effort. We shall see. And some divers might get upset that their number shows up too small. I found one buddy who obviously tried the dive log with one dive, but didn’t use the start-at counter, so it shows he has only one dive. Perhaps the it should read on the profile page as "online logged dives ___" instead of number of dives. If not updated it could be grossly inaccurate. Maybe for the divers still using the book, but would like to keep their total number updated on their profile, you can go back and update the "start at" number? Just thinking out loud. Thanks for your efforts Greg, and we do understand the complexity of the task. Much appreciated.

If they don’t keep track of their dives on DiveBuddy and they haven’t entered a starting dive count or bottom time, then you won’t see a Total Dives section on their profile. If they don’t keep track of their dives on DiveBuddy and the DID enter something into the dive count or bottom time, then you’ll only see a label that shows whatever they entered in the starting fields. That way they can choose to show a static number that doesn’t change much...or a dynamic number that changes whenever they log new dives.
I appreciate the comments. Keep testing and report any errors to me. Once we ironed out all issues, I’ll write up something about this new feature :)
