 Diver needed for submarine test

On Wednesday Sept. 8th we will be taking the R300 out to Medina Lake for more open water tests. We are short one diver and are looking for someone with deep dive experience to join us for the day. There is only one deep dive planed for the scuba divers, but a lot of on or near the surface work. You bring your gear, we have tanks. We depart from Devine Texas early Wednesday morning.

How deep is the sub going? How many people does it fit? Is air supplied inside the sub OR is scuba gear required for air?

BTW, here is a link to Joe’s Place dive site on Medina Lake. Looks like nice water (for a Texas lake that is :).

The R300 is designed for an operational depth of 300 feet. For this test we are going to the bottom of Medina lake which is around 120 feet near the dam. The R300 is a one man, and is one atmosphere sub. Inside the sub is set up like a re-breather. Sensors monitor oxygen and CO2 levels. Pure oxygen is added as needed. You could stay underwater for 3 days if necessary.


The sub and crew depart from my dads house in Devine TX early Wednesday and return that afternoon. We still need another diver. E-mail for more info. Thanks.

The sub test has been rescheduled for Tuesday September 14th due to Hermine hitting the Texas coast. Still have an opening for a qualified diver. Message if interested.

Sorry, I didn’t see the test had been rescheduled. That day won’t work for me either, but I’d be interested to hear how the viz looks.
