From sethness: Whoa. Am I hearin’ what I’m hearin’? If you’re documenting dives just for your own amusement, do whatever you like. However, if you’re documenting proof so that you can later a) become an instructor or b) go on similar but exclusive deep/wreck/drift dives or c) documenting sea time to become a US boat captain, there’s a world of difference between just writing it up yourself and having independent verification.
You must be in Europe where they’re more rigorous with dive logs. My dive log had never been questioned. In any case if someone wants to cheat they’ll find a way, but in the end if you cheat you’re cheating yourself.
