Vortex Springs. 70 year old diver passed away yesterday at Vortex Springs. Probable cause: heart attack during the ascent. Diver reached the surface and signaled distress. Instructor towed diver to dock. First responders gave CPR and mouth to mouth for about 18 minutes before rescue crews arrive. His name was Frank.

We enjoy a sport that comes with inherit risk minimized by the training we receive from our instruction and proficiency. The number of divers trained to assist and the manor all these divers came to the rescue of Frank was overwhelming. Sadly Frank didn’t make it.

So sorry for Frank and his family.. A good day diving that went bad for everyone there..
