To Sell or Not to Sell

I did an online scuba course in 2008 and the went to Cozumel MX for my water certification. I fell in love with diving. I came home back to Kansas and started buying all the gear to go again. I knew at that time I would love to dive more. I purchased EVERYTHING. I got alot of nice gear. But it seems that every time I get some money saved up to possibly go on a diving vacation some bill appears. At this point I don’t know if I will ever get to go diving again. I have only used the new equipment twice in the local pool over the past 2 years. WHAT SHOULD I DO ?

[Choose #4] You might also try your local dive shop...they might try to sell it for you and/or buy it to use as rental gear. There’s one in Manhattan. I know K-State teaches scuba too, since my brother got his certification there.

[Choose #5] there are couple of sites like couch surfing which people help each other visiting the local places by letting them using their home, etc. I think it would be nice we build such a community for divers,so you can dive cheap too.

[Choose #2] Dive gear losses value very quickly, weather used or not. I have been trying to sell a dry suit that I payed $2800 for. It has never been wet! No luck-1yr. Gear also becomes obsolete quickly.

[Choose #3] MAKE it happen! Find a spring or quarry and some local buddies. Also, plan a road trip to S. Florida at some point. There great diving there. No air fare. Several nice shore dives and tons of great dive operators! Much cheaper than a trip to Coz.

[Choose #3] hold on to the gear, its already paid for and is costing very minimal to keep it. Find a dive buddy and start diving locat lakes and rivers or quarries. Most of us don’t do big dive trips every year.
#170
NashvilleAquanut - 8/05/2010 8:34 PM
[Choose #3] If your really into diving like I’m sure most of us are, you’ll dive in a mud puddle if thats all you got. I got to the local lake sometimes just to blow some bubbles even tho the viz sucks, what the hell your diving. Surely you live close to a lake.
#261
Gottado - 8/05/2010 7:43 AM
