I got my open water cert in Aug `07 and I am enjoying it so much. I go diving any chance I get. My husband has been certified many years and he finally talked me into it. I can`t believe I didn`t let him talk me into it sooner! I received my advanced open water in June of ’08 and now plan on going for my Rescue. I have dove lakes in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico. I have also been to the Bahamas and dove. It was awsome. We were aboard the Morning Star, a sail boat with Blackbeard Cruises. We had so much fun. Can’t wait to see where diving takes me next. Hopefully one of these days I will get rich and it will take me to FIGI! This year it is taking me to Roatan. Never thought I would get to go to all of these awsome places. I LOVE SCUBA DIVING!

Gwen,

Not sure of your location, but we can make the arrangements from your location. I have (3) spots left for Roatan on August 15 -22, 2009. If you are interested contact my dive shop (Columbia Scuba) at 410-381-1994 located in Maryland and we can make the arrangements.

Thanks,

Mark Cole

Another good thing about CoCoview, it’s away from the cruise ship traffic. Why don’t you join scubaboard.com and look at the roatan forum there. It’s been four years since I have been to Roatan and you will see more current trip reports there and it will probally be more acurate than what I can give you. I know that there are new resorts that have been built since I have traveled there. Bob

They have shore diving 24/7. Look at the webcams and you’ll see the trail leading staight to the wreck. The cabanas over the water are kinda neat, you see fish all around them. Now CoCoview is on its own island a couple of hundred yards off Roatan and besides diving, snorkeling and kayaking that’s about all there is to do there. We went into town one night to eat and on the last day we rented a car and explored the island. Roatan has the most awsome walls but you will see more fish in other places.

I know, we have never had anything stolen out there before. We had a lot of divers passing by our dock that day and that’s where we put the weights at the bottom corner of the dock. I guess someone was just swimming by saw the weights and thought merry Christmas? Oh well, I guess they needed them more than us?
