Grand Cayman`s first resident pirate built a castle at the place now named after him--Great Pedro Point, backdrop for the area`s best deep dive. Two massive coral spires rise from the drop-off`s dark nothingness to within 70 feet of the surface. Along their sides grow pristine stands of black coral and fans of gorgonians wide enough to cool the World Trade Center. Turtles and rays swim past on their way to feed in the sand flats. Somewhat choppy conditions make this a dive for the experienced.
