L.C.M. David Nicholson - Cayman Islands

Loading...
This wreck is actually part of the Sunset House house reef.

The Nicholson (named after Sunset’s 1st DM) was put in front of Sunset House in an effort to give the reef some relief from divers and to attract new and exciting fish life. Well it has done more than that in the years it has been down. This wreck is now covered and surrounded by life and makes for a great day or night dive.

To get an idea of where the wreck is look offshore in front of Sunset House. The first thing you will notice are several moorings where we keep our boats at night. Look for the mooring that is the farthest out and just a touch to the right of the ladder....that is the Nicholson.

The wreck lies in 55 FSW and takes about 8-10 minutes to dive to from shore. The Nicholson is the central icon of the Sunset shore dive. It stands vigil at the start of the deep wall, it marks a turning point for a nice shallow recreational dive and sits in the same sand area with the Mermaid, and makes a great photo subject for your collection!
