Access is from a small parking area on the south end of the dam, and steep hike down the rock face of the dam and a dirt trail. It is not too difficult, but you need to be in shape. Once down at the water, shore conditions are good, rocky beach. Depending on which way you go, you will have varying rates of bottom slope, but a pretty flat area at 50-60ft, with eventual drop off into the old river channel, which can be 80-100ft. To the south and west, the river channel is closer to the bank. At the corner of the dam, the channel is a long swim out.
