A man made lake, and VERY little to see. But if the goal is to get wet, and just get in a dive close to home, this could be just the thing for you.
We dove in March, and the water temp ranged from 44-46. The boat ramp is closed in winter so the entry is far easier when the ranger station re-opens the ramp and campgrounds. But winter divers can park along the side of the road on one of many turnouts and go down a slight incline into the water, or across the receded lake bed to get in.
Again, nothing to see, but if you want to get wet, and live near Salem, there is no tides or currents, so it’s as easy of a dive as you’ll get.
