This is an advanced dive site and should not be attempted by new divers. One must have good buoyancy and proper finning techniques to avoid disturbing the silt bottom.

The entry/ exit is easiest in the small cove at the bottom of the trail from the parking area. Be prepared for a short hike from the parking area to the entry point. Be sure to bring a dive flag/ float as boat traffic and fishing is common in this area. It is suggested to surface swim a short distance to get beyond the thick vegetation before submerging and following the contour of the bottom.

Some items of interest you may find are a bathtub, sink, and even a small boat. Many other items left by boaters can be found such as glasses, hats, bottles, and beer cans. If you travel west to the middle of the channel, you will be in about 50 feet of water. If you then travel south, following the old river bed, the depth with continue to 100+ feet.

Keep in mind this area can get very busy with boaters and people fishing. It’s best to dive early morning during the weekdays or in the fall season.
