Anna Foss Tug - Vashon Island WA

Loading...
The Anna Foss Tug is a 68 foot wood-hulled steam tug built in 1907 and sank in 1969. The engine and several salvage pontoons are present and much of the hull still stands 10’ off the bottom, although it is deteriorating rapidly. This site seems to attract all sorts of interesting nudibranchs and large schools of fish. More history of the Anna Foss can be found in Northwest Wreck Dives. The Anna Foss makes a great follow-up dive to the nearby popular dive sites of Sunrise Beach and Dalco Wall. The pleasant cove where the Anna Foss is found tends to attract flotsam and debris so approach carefully and look up when surfacing. This passage has heavy boat traffic so be sure to fly your dive flag. The cove is moderately well protected from current.
