A 70-foot cable-laying ship sunk in 1981 next to Mitch Miller’s Reef, the Doc Poulson is a picturesque shallow dive great for beginners and second tanks. Intact and safe to penetrate, the wreck is encrusted with tiny patches of brain corals, sea fans and sea rods and tended by a crew of slippery dick wrasse, parrotfish and angelfish. Also inside is a shy green moray eel. Big grouper and schooling jacks split their time between the wreck and the surrounding reef when they aren’t buzzing the garden eels on the sand flat.
