Nelson’s Ledges is a small quarry adjacent to Nelson’s Ledges State Park. The owners are Grateful Dead fans and there are frequent concerts by bands stuck in the ’70s with the corresponding lifestyle. The diving is OK, the best feature being its proximity to the the major metropolitan areas of North East Ohio. There is a cabin cruiser or two, some old car wrecks and leftover equipment from the quarry operation. There are abundant blue gill, perch and crappy with an occasional catfish as well. There are cases of freshwater jellies appearing in the late summer and early fall. This is a satifactory checkout site and a great site for courses in U/W navigation.
