The China was built by Wessera W Power & Co. of Kingston Ontario. When built, she was hailed as one of the finest boats in the inland seas. Tragically, the China only plied the water ways for six months before burning 12 miles west of Kingston in October 1872.
There is not much left of the China except the prop and boiler.
