I did my open water checkout dives at Cedar Valley Quarry, which is near Tiption, IA. It is nothing spectacular, just a flooded limestone quarry adjacent to the Cedar River, with nothing more than a crude outhouse for amenities. To my knowledge, it is badly silted and no longer open to SCUBA diving.


I remember there being a few pieces of submerged machinery, a small motor boat, a Ford coupe car body, and lots of beer cans at this site.
