Jay Street Bridge is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Lock Haven, PA 17745. This dive site has an average rating of 2.50 out of 5 from 2 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 11-15ft/3-5m. The average visibility is 16-20ft/5-6m.

Access can be gained via the ramp marked for "Fire Department Use Only" that leads to the base of the bridge. Vehicle parking is allocated to the area of the pavilion across the street from the access ramp. A dive marker float is needed as boat traffic can be heavy particularly during the summer. Max depth is 22 feet.

To the east of the bridge, downstream, there is an intact small boat that had sunk many years ago that sits in 15 feet of water. Sometimes it is visible and other times it is covered by silt. Storms and ice force debris under the bridge which gives plenty of cover for fish to hide within. Treasure hunters may find something interesting by following the bridge to the far side of the river and combing the area around the floating stage where boaters are moored during concerts.

Divers are suppose to complete a waiver/ permit and return it to the Woodward Township Police Department before diving.

This is a well used training site. Great for O/W cert dives and adventure dives. Dove here last weekend for the first time in two years. Saw more fish than I have before, which is good. Great place to practice buoyancy, one fin kick to the bottom muck and you’ll know you’re too close to the bottom as you’ll kill your visibility for several minutes around you.

This location is OK if your looking to refresh basic skill but that’s about it. Use caution if diving here during times of heavy boat traffic as most boaters are ignorant as to what a dive flag means or they simply don’t care.
