The Japanese call it Ohanabatake, meaning field of flowers, is a large soft coral reef system located off the central part of Okinawa Island’s western coast in the East China Sea. Access to the site is all along the Sunabe (more specifically Miyagi Coast) seawall. There are several dive shops in the area, but due to limit rental gear make sure you reserve gear at least a day in advance of your desired dive day (or rent from one of the base dive shops). Stairs lead from the seawall down to the ocean in several spots making entry/exit very easy. You will often see several dive classes being conducted under the many pavilions in the area.
