Friend of Foe?
I have been diving long enough to see a rivalry between Dive Agencies. This is brought to dive sites and other functions, which effects new students and how they will treat others when they go out on their Dive Quests..... Leave your differences at home.
We have joined as one team here on DiveBuddy.com
So lets take it into our Dive World and make it a stronger bond between DIVERS!

You will ROCK the Boat, But I stand behind you 100%. All Divers should be as ONE! You always treat everyone equal.

I agree, also. As an instructor for a few aagencies there is way to much compitetion between them. If you are an instructor for one agency they don’t want you to teach anything else. I find that bad mouthing other agencies is a good way to turn a prospective student off. Most agencies teach basically the same thing so why hammer on the others?? Lets get alson and work for the betterment of all diving.

Amen to that one!! I have seen one shop run another down at every chance!! I have even had one shop really rude to me because they don’t sell the "brand" of the item I had in my gear bag while taking classes from them.... wow... We all enjoy the same sport.... and competion is always good for an industry... no mater what industry it is. It is always good for the consumer. Soooooo :) I am assuming that this "shared kindredship" for All agents doesn’t apply to the dreaded "online stores".... hahahahahaha :) being the devils advocate I am.... I had to ask!! :)

Haven’t all the agencies formed a council and been working on a more consistent education system?

Appart from things like if you want to be a certified shop then you have to drop all other agency affiliations... I think its more the students of the agencies playing "my Kung Fu is greater then yours" then the agancies themselves isn’t it?

Most of the trainers and owners of shops I’ve talked to are pretty open and agreeable to all the agencies, If not cerified by most of them too... Even if they can’t teach anything other then the currently certified shop agency (typically PADI)

I couldn’t agree more. If we all work together to build a bigger industry, then everyone benefits. It doesn’t do any good to bad mouth other agencies or competitors, it only makes you look bad. So play nice, be nice and help the industry out as a whole. The more divers in our market, the more business for all dive retailers, and the more dive buddies for everyone!

As a Advanced NAUI diver I decided to become a PADI instructor, but will also seriously consider SSI next, so when I grow up and become to old to dive 200 -250 dives per year, I will teach. Hopefully by then I will learn enough to teach well.
