Hello everyone. My name is Paulette. I moved to San Francisco last year & I absolutely love living here. I was raised in Los Angeles (so I have always been a California Girl at heart) but I’ve spent the past 10 years in Las Vegas.

I finally started diving in 2005, after wanting to ever since I can remember. I got certified through Red Sail Sports in Aruba for my PADI Open Water & then went back the following year to the same spot for my Advanced Open Water Certification. I truly fell in love with both diving & the island, people, & culture of Aruba. Originally I planned to move to Aruba to be a diving instructor there, but my plans were pleasantly changed when I met my boyfriend Doug & decided to move here to San Francisco where he lived. During the past year I have completed both my PADI Rescue Diver & PADI Dive Master in Monterey. My Rescue Diver class was actually my very first time with a wetsuit or hood, weight belt, & in cold water. Shocked What a huge difference. I was still equally in love with both diving (in cold water this time) & Northern California. Cheesy This past year has honestly been the year that I have felt most at home than any other year in my life.

I plan on completing my AI & IDC before 2010 & spending the next entire year assisting with as many classes as possible so I can gain experience & knowledge from as many divers of all levels as possible. Eventually I intend to specialize in teaching teenagers to dive. I believe that it is especially important for kids to have responsibility & positive outlets at that vital in-between stage. I also especially enjoy working with kids. I think it is a major eye opener environmentally to see first hand how our Earth’s oceans work & the damage humankind is constantly doing to them. Realization & understanding is the first step in conservation. I love nature & everything about it especially anything water related.

As of the moment I am fortunate enough to be comfortably unemployed, so I am spending every moment enjoying & exploring my new home (both above & below sea level). Can’t wait to meet & go diving with all of you!
