This is my mom’s profile on DiveBuddy. She passed away on June 13th, 2014 after battling with Pancreatic Cancer. Part of her memory lives on here.

Question about the scuba quiz, if I pass all of them will I be certified or certifiable? ; )

Interesting to look at and refresh memories.
Greg - 1/29/2013 1:01 PM
You would still need to prove your underwater skills to get certified. There is no online test for that.
Eve - 1/29/2013 1:08 PM
Okay, what if I post a pic of my head under the water in the sink, would that help?
Greg - 1/29/2013 1:17 PM
PADI might accept that.

I witnessed something this past week that not many get to witness any more and that is mainly complete strangers with a common interest laughing, talking, assisting each other, looking out for each other, being nice. In the world we live in it has become harder and harder for folks to communicate face to face , to be able to interact, to relate to each other. I witnessed that very thing and it put a smile in my heart. I am speaking of the get together to dive at Loch Low-Minn, we met some very nice people, some we have never met before. Everyone got along right away, non seemed weary of the other, some offered food to strangers. not something you see to much of now adays. All were from different walks of life with one common interest, diving. I find it refreshing and am grateful that a site that started as a result of one diver searching for another with common interest is able to create something this wonderful.

I agree, divers are a pretty cool bunch.

To think it all started by you inviting dad to take scuba lessons with you, thank you.

Topsail NC has a wonderful sea turtle rescue group, www.seaturtlehospital.org and we were some of the lucky ones that were able to attend a turtle release event this morning. We arrived around 10:00 AM and first went to the small hospital annex to ge ta sneak peak at one of the turtles being released, a Loggerhead and wow he was a good 200 lbs. They released 14 turtles in all, an assortment of Loggerheads, Green and Kemps Ridley. Along with watching the volunteers carry the turtles into the ocean , there were many well informed volunteers there to answer questions and just assist were needed. The pictures will show many folks even though it was chilly and rainy it was a wonderful experence. We look forward to doing it again as well as donating to a group who is doing a wonderful job
