I use to have a pornstache as my wife calls it. I dove with it for 25 years with very few problems. I would trim it a little more just below my nose to help with sealing. They make a mask seal that is silicone friendly that helps without degrading your mask.

I have a mustache and used to have problems with my cheap, entry-level mask. After switching to the ScubaPro Solo mask I rarely have any problems. The mask skirt is thinner and conforms to my face better. Every now and then I have problems, but certainly not on a regular basis. Also, I find it helps if my mustache is thicker and overlaps opposed to having a thinly trimmed mustache. I hope this helps.

I just shave a narrow seal strip below my nose and this seems to help. I also find it useful to ensure the rest of my beard is trimmed to outside where the mask seal hits (like on my cheeks). It does make a difference.

I tend to shave it because it can flood your goggles, and I do not know about you but I do not want to mask clear every 15 min, lol

I’ve tried the mask seal stick. It’s pretty nasty. Like snot in your hair that you can’t get out. I have an Atomic Venom that seals way better than the other masks I’ve had. You said you’ve dove with and without the stache? Was there a difference? If not, your mask doesn’t fit your face.
