I have taken a few dives in California from Ventura, CA in the Channel Islands to off the coast of Newport Beach, CA on Anacapa Island. It is coldwater diving, but very enjoyable. I recently did some shore diving off the coast of Monterey Bay, CA in the kelp forest. very nice!

Thank you..! Had to cancel my trip due to a family emergency; but I’ve rescheduled for August. I will be flying into San Francisco instead of Los Angeles. I’m hoping to dive Monterey Bay. Thanks for the info.

No problem! I love to go to California to go diving. I am planning to go Catalina Island approximately 70 miles off the coast of Los Angeles. When you go to Monterey, CA, It will be amazing to see the sea otters and sea lions. Hopefully, you get a chance to travel to Big Sur, CA. Julia Pfeiffer State Park

If I do remember anything from diving in Monterey, it is the sea cucumbers, crabs, and starfish. Can’t forget the Kelp Forest. 😊 Enjoy your trip.
