I’m taking a sidemount class on 2/8. I’d like to stay in town overnight and do more diving the next day (in sidemount). Need a buddy, anyone want to go diving?

Actually I could stand to dive more on 2/8 in that area as well.

Hey Aaron
Where are you diving I am interested and available to plan some diving. Tried side mount a few months ago and liked so I bought some gear and have not set up and tested yet. I took wreck penetration cert and have considered cave but have not found divers i trust as for i take it serious before i go tec or cave! 117 dives

I’m doing a class in Rainbow River at 9am. After that, I’m up for anything in the area. Rainbow again, or we could do Blue Grotto or something else?

Just went to Blue Grotto $40.00 1/2 day pricey I like to change it up with variety. How about Manatee springs $6.00 in Chiefland Florida not far from Rainbow? Might consider Rainbow in the Am if it is OK with your isrtuctor? Who is your instructor does he teach cave, helitrox and or deco maybe I could talk to him about future training? We’re you diving Sunday allso?

I’m up for Manatee, never been there. My instructor for sidemount is Robert (Bob) Henn out of Sunshine Scuba. He’s currently doing an internship for his cave instructor card. I’ll be doing cave with him and Reggie Ross (since Bob is interning). I believe it will be through NSS-CDS, although Reggie’s website clearly says NASE.

I need to get at least 25 dives in the sidemount rig prior to starting cave1. Then it’s
Cave1&2 (4 days)
Cave3 (2 days)
Tec45 (2 days)
Cave4 aka "full cave" (2 days)

I believe Tec45 does not include Trimix. I think if I proceed into trimix, I would probably also do rebreather to save on helium. Both are likely in my future, but I doubt I will do either in 2014.

Still have gear to get for the caves, which I’ll acquire while doing my side mount dives.

BTW, those classes were quoted to me at a total tuition of $2,775. I’m hoping that includes training materials! If you end up doing cave, maybe we could strike a deal by doing them at the same time.

Bill, Manatee Springs is a Florida state park: floridastateparks.org/manateesprings/ and the divebuddy.com entry: divebuddy.com/divesite.aspx?DiveSiteID=2045

Scubacrab, I previously asked Bob if he’d mind if I brought buddies and he said it was fine. Although, I’m not sure how fun that first dive will be due to the class.

Sounds good to me diving Rainbow River in the Am Sat during your class! Afternoon doing it again or heading to Manatee Springs. Some more diving Sunday if you are up to it? I will post my cell# and email so we can work out the details.

K.P. Hole park. You can park there and catch a "water taxi" up river for about 25 bucks. They’ll drop you and you can drift back to the park.
