Whites Fusions were looking pretty good the other day when i reseached them

If I hadn’t been planning on moving to warm water diving years ago i would have got the DUI TLS-350 with polar fleece under garment and rock boots. My buddy/instructor has been using the same one for 10-15 years or more.

Both DUI and White have demo tours where you can try on gear, get fitted and at the ones I went to get coupons for $$ off.
I liked the fit of the white’s but the Zip seals on the DUI.

I have DUI CLX 450 and I love it, rugged tough, and with the zip seals one can change between wrist seals and dry gloves on site. I opted for turbo soles, so you don’t need more to pack, and or forget. Easy to don and doff by my self, practice with a buddy several times or you could wind up stuck looking quite silly.

They do make a drysuit cut if your going full custom called "Cave Cut" which fits tighter to the body.

After diving wet in 42 degree water today, I am also now looking for a drysuit. Anyone have any opinions on Pinnacle. I can get a good price through my LDS. It looks like a pretty decent suit, I also like the Bare suits. All in a pretty decent price point for starting out in the drysuit world.

Might want to check on Pinnacle’s status. Last time I heard they weren’t releasing many suits/ taking forever to get new suits if you ever got one and very difficult to get ahold of concerning warranty issues. They started having problems a few years ago when the merged with Zeagle and I’m not sure they ever got over them. I’ve heard a few that have placed orders and never received their suits and were refunded the money back. Also, I think Bare has had seam separation issues with the one suit of theres. Don’t limit yourself to just 2 suits. There’s a bunch of them out there so make sure to do your homework on them. At the end of the day you’ll probably be baffled by the so many options they come with.

Hey thanks for the info on Pinnacle, I know there have been issues with the merge and at times the instructors I work with have had some issue with orders from them, but they seem to be better, and order here in Canada at least they come from a distributor in Calgary that does not seem to be to bad. I appreciate the insight for sure. I am looking at it as a "starter" dry suit, frankly, I can get one at a really good price through my instructor buddy on a DEMA special so it will get me in one now type thing. Then I start saving and selling my children to get a custom DUI. LOL.

Anyone know or have info on the weight swing at depth of different dry suits ane the material they make them from so I could figure out the lead required and bc lift loss because of the compression of the material it is made of? For example I have a 7mil Farmer John nuetraly boyant at the surface bc empty. At 100ft the compresion of the neopreme my 32lb wing has lost it’s capacity to give me any lift completely filled with air.

Lerpy, if you attend a DUI demo, atleast when I got mine, they gave you a promo for attending where it only cost $200 more for a full on custom suit. And you got a hood, choice of kneepads and one pocket or two pockets and I think there was a percentage discount off the cost of the base suit.
SC, the suit really doesn’t effect the weighting that you will need. It all depends on the undergarments that you wear and each one compresses differently so it’s almost a case by case thing. The undergarments is what affects your weighting.

If you’re going tech seriously consider going with the DUI. They seem to be the choice for most of the GUE and WKPP divers, and those seem to be the most demanding divers when it comes to selecting gear. When you buy consider the suit’s fit, and your ability to reach the dump valves. Going tech you’ll focus on buoyancy and trim a lot, so consider where your dump valve is located. Front of the shoulder doesn’t work well if you spend your time in proper trim.
I’ve been shopping hard but just can’t afford the price right now. Those are the key points I’ve learned to look at. inflator location was actually what steered me away from the White’s Kodiak, even though it otherwise looked good on paper. DUI just seems to have figured out all the little things.

Whites Fusion One or Fusion Sport/Tech/Bullet has a deal where you can get free underwear or boots, hood and gloves if you buy a new suit before the end of April. That is a pretty awesome deal when the Thermal Fusion underwear is $450.
I just bought my first drysuit and went with the Fusion Sport. I can always upgrade the skin later to the Tech skin if needed. I’m excited to get some quarry dives in soon at Gilboa to test the suit out.
