Hi! I’m heading down to Key Largo in October and would like to do some of the wreck diving. My friends do not dive so I would like to dive with a shop that provides guides. Anyone care to share their experiences or provide recommendations?

There is a shop I am FB friends with that do all kinds of trips in the Keys. Look up AKA Divers. Not sure if they are in the area you are looking to go. But worth a shot.

91790 Overseas Hwy , Tavernier, Florida 33070

Thanks! Have dived with them?

I have not made it there yet, but everyone I ask on FB raves about them.

You can probably get a feel from them if you contact them.

Try Rainbow Reef Key Largo, one of the instructors at my local dive shop owns a house in Key Largo and recommends them.

It’s a Dive was bought out 2 years ago. Now it’s Pirate Island Divers and the Marriot is at MM 103.9. And don’t pay extra for a guide. EVERY charter always has people on the boat that have already done the dive and you can buddy with them for free. Good charters are run by Silent World, Rainbow Reef, Horizon, Ocean Divers, Pirate Island, and Quiessence.

Update: went with Scuba-do this weekend. Double dipped on the Spiegel Grove and USCG Duane. The Scuba-do team was very friendly and safe. I have no complaints and would dive with them again.

Conk Republic and Florida Keys divers have a good reputation!
