Going to Fl the last two weeks of July, to dive the Keys and the east coast... what are the "must see" sites between Key West and Daytona Beach? Anyone been to Lynn’s reef off of Boynton Beach? Need your sugguestions! Thanks

Lynn’s Reef? Would that be Lynn-Sheri? http://www.divebuddy.com/divesite.aspx?DiveSiteID=429

The must see’s are the corridor drift off WPB, I use Jim Abernathy’s Scuba Adventures for that, if the current is right you can hit 4-5 wrecks on one dive.

For muck diving you can’t beat Blue Heron Bridge.

Key Largo: Ocean Divers and do Molasses Reef.. Duane and Spiegel Grove wrecks are great also..

Key West: You gotta do the Vandenberg.. I booked with Sub Tropic.. Although, I just found out they are under new owners.. Can’t attest to how they are now..

You could also do a megalodon tooth charter out of Venice Beach. (Although, that is on the West Coast)

Hi Amanda1,

My favorite dive is The Corridor in WPB. I don’t know what kind of diving you are "into" but it really has it all; lots of marine life diversity, wrecks, and a nice drift. There is also the usual added bonus of Goliath Grouper. I also recommend The Trench, especially at night.

If you stop into Lauderdale, I recently dove "Pyramids" and it was a nice little dive with big Puffer’s, turtles, and lots of fish. I also liked the Tracy wreck. Very open and easy penetration. Lots of marine life.

In the Keys, I have a buddy that told me don’t visit Key Largo without diving Molasses Reef, he says it is a must see.

I hope this helps. Have fun!

Looe key I think that is how it is spelled? anyways it is by Big Pine Key It is a must do I cant believe nobody mentioned it yet? Now you have to be very careful as you have picked one of the worst times to go diving in that area! Mini season for lobster is in that time frame & there will be more divers & boats on the water at one time than any one would think possible. Many of which will be running low on sleep & possibly drinking etc. Historically people die during this time!!!!! I dont mean to be the doom & gloom but I just think people should be informed. Its not you that you have to worry about its all of the other people! Most charters are already booked, boat ramps will be full & lodging will be hard to find. With that said good luck & be safe. I as a rule do not dive during mini season. Todd

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions on your favorite dives! Our trip to the Keys was great! Still trying to salvage the pictures from Looe Key off of the now waterlogged camera. lol. It was rated for 33’ and busted at 25’. We dove Alligator Reef off of Lislamorada Key, (surpising how comfortable a 95’ dive can be) a few different sites at Looe Key Reef (unbeleivably beautiful), lobstering at Big Pine Key (loads of fun), and ended the trip with a dive at Blue Heron Bridge (the best marine life diversity). Will dive Molasses and the Lynn’s Reef section of Boynton Reef on the next trip.
