Not sure if there is a dive shop on atlantis, but you can try Bahamas Divers out of Nassau, they have good boat trips..

Just did this trip. I would agree to try Bahama Divers. Stuart Cove’s is the big operator there, but operated like a cattle car. They forced the whole boat on our first dive to follow the DM and limit the dive to 30 minutes bottom time. I was not happy with that, and came up with 1,600psi left. Second dive was better as they let us stay down as long as we had air. Funny how it worked out we did a deeper wreck dive for dive #2 only 5 minutes from the dock. Whopping 40 minute bottom time there. But they were sure to get back to the dock on time for the second group of the day! I hear their shark feeding dives are pretty cool if you are into that. They have started doing dives out of Atlantis, but it is to only two shallow spots 15-20’ deep which are better suited for snorkeling. Here is a link to a video I made of our trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnjS_qVKdJM

Geez, I have a few days of diving booked in January with Stuart Cove, hhhmmm. Oh well I went with them as they were a big name, gives me a chance to check things out while I am there. Booked to do one of their shark dives which I am looking forward to. They also did a pretty good package deal for when I booked through them for hotel and diving. I will have to blog my experience with them when I get back.

When are you headed down there?

Didn’t mean to scare people away from Stuart’s Cove. I might have just hit the odd day and the wrong dive sites. Any diving is good diving right? :-)

I dove with Stuart Cove in 06 as a diver with 6, OW dives under his belt. The shark dive alone makes then worth it, was a awesome experience. They are a cattle boat operation, large groups who follow the DM. Professional but there a business. Stayed at the Wyndham in Nassau, that hotel does decent packages through them.

Yup any diving is good diving. You didn’t scare me off Rich, I am sure it will be fantastic, I mean hey, beach, sun, diving, and other beautiful things to keep my attention I am sure. Looking at the site they do seem like a cattle operation, 24 people to a boat, yikes!!! compared to the boat I am going on in Florida, 6 people to the boat. And I am betting it will be a lot of 1 dive a year types, which is fine, no offence to the one dive a year folks, Iprobably just dug a hole for myself.

I am totaly stoked about the shark dive, that should be a rush. Is it weird I want to punch a shark, not out of anger, just to say I did it. Not to be mean to sharks either, I like sharks. Probably just dug myself another hole.

Thanks everyone. I just came back and used the Bahama Divers. The Blue Hole dive was great. The other dives I did were not as good, the water was choppy and we did only shallow dives, and the vis was not to good. Just wish the sea was better. But did have a good time. Also loved the speed boat ride to do snorkling out on one of the small islands.

STUART COVE’S IS THE BEST! HANDS DOWN!!!

I’ve done two shark dive trips to Paradise Island and they are the biggest and best dive shop operation on the entire island, and probably all of the Bahamas too.
