I enjoy diving Wreck Alley off Mission Beach in San Diego, CA. The HMCS Yukon is a 366ft Canadian Destroyer sitting in 105ft of water. The ship sank during the tow out to the proposed site. Because of this, it rests at a 70 degree angle on the port side. There are many access holes cut into the sides and the bridge is easily accessible. Also, the wreck site is only about 1.5 miles from the shore. Charter boats run less than $100/person since travel time to the wreck is about 10 minutes and fuel consumption is minimal. There is also the Ruby E. wreck and a sunken NOAA tower within a mile of the Yukon. Many of the charters schedule trips to both wrecks on the same trip. The experience is very rewarding.
