I recently finished my PADI AOW cert class, and there were five students (including me) plus the instructor. (The instructor buddied with me for the dives, so I was lucky).
You did the right thing going for one-on-one extra help if you weren’t comfortable with your skills. Glad you feel better now. Out on an open water dive is no place to be unsure of yourself.
