I remember reading a story and I think it was in California about two research divers who placed the milk crate that contained the anchor and rode into the boat, went to the spot, tossed the anchor over and dove. When they returned to the anchor there was the milk crate too :( They had never tied it to the boat!
They swam to a rock to spend the night and heard banging, their John boat was there on the rocks too :)
