Tortoise Bay is a nice pretty safe cove to dive in and there are usually plenty of divers out there from 07:00 to Noon. There is a lot of slit if you touch bottom and the visibility is not the best in the world. But I have not dove many lakes that have great vis anyway. Be safe and have a good time.
