Welcome to the wonderful world of diving! Sounds like you are already hooked...can’t blame you at all. Have you emailed members in your area directly? When I was planning a trip, I did a search on here for divers in the area and sent them each an email, almost all of them responded and I ended up finding some great new dive buddies.
Also, there is a meetup group in the Ft. Lauderdale area and they dive all the time (in fact someone is off for the Summer and looking for buddies)...check em out at http://www.meetup.com/goldcoastscuba/, great group of divers!
