Stillhouse Hollow Lake is located between Belton and Ft Hood (Closer to Belton) off of Hwy 190. It is a resevoir that was constructed, I believe, in 1964. There is a scuba park located near the marina. Maximum depth in the scuba park is 66 ft. (at the bottom of the old Lampasas River channel). In the park there are also a couple of sunken boats (homes to a rather large catfish and a humongous drum fish, both very teritorial) and what remains of a water pump station that existed prior to the dam being built and the valley flooded. Visability varies, much like most lakes. I’ve seen it at a foot and as good as 15 ft. There was a dive shop at the marina but it has been put up for sale. I would recommend bringing a few tanks. I plan on making at least 2 dives, maybe three.
